1. What are cookies?
Cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) are small pieces of data stored in your browser. They allow CodeBull to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure how the platform is used, and (with your consent) deliver relevant marketing.
2. Categories of cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Requires consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Authentication (JWT), session, CSRF, theme/language, security. | No β strictly necessary. |
| Analytics — Google Analytics 4 | Anonymous usage insights to improve the platform. User and event-level data is retained by Google for up to 13 months (GA4 default). | Yes — opt-in. |
| Analytics — Cloudflare | Cookieless web analytics provided as part of our infrastructure (DNS, CDN, security). It does not set tracking cookies and does not track you across other sites. | No cookies — legitimate interest (infrastructure / security). |
| Marketing | Reserved category. No marketing or advertising pixels are currently deployed on CodeBull. UTM parameters captured in the URL are stored in your browser only (first-party local storage) and are not shared with ad networks unless and until we enable marketing cookies and you opt in. | Yes — opt-in (currently inactive). |
3. Consent & Google Consent Mode v2
Analytics and marketing storage are denied by default. Google Analytics is loaded with Consent Mode v2 so that no analytics or advertising cookies are set until you explicitly accept them via the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Manage Cookie Preferences button above or the Manage Cookies link in the footer.
4. Third parties
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) for opt-in usage analytics, Cloudflare, Inc. for DNS, CDN, security and cookieless web analytics, and Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. for billing. Stripe sets cookies only on its own checkout and customer portal pages, which are governed by its own privacy notice. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of sub-processors.
5. Retention
Consent preferences are stored in your browser for up to 365 days. Server-side consent audit records (hashed IP and user-agent only) are retained per our Privacy Policy.
